The Weeknd – “Party Monster” Music Video

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye just released the video for his latest single “Party Monster” off of his album “Starboy” and the visuals do not disappoint. The song itself is a bop, but the colors, filters, camera angles and everything visual in the video is top notch. A great music video adds to the mood/atmosphere that the song portrays and now I feel like I’m the Selena’s ass that he’s talking about.

Which, btw, which Selena do you think he’s talking about? When I first heard “Party Monster” I thought to myself, “He’s talking about Selena Quintanilla” because she was curvy and had a big ol’ dookie booty. Then, the photos of Abel and Selena Gomez kissing after dinner the other day came out and I thought, “Hmm, this is probably promo for the song because when he sings the line about Selena, he’ll have Gomez in it since he can’t have Quintanilla in it.” Nope, wrong again. Gomez is nowhere to be seen in the video and earlier today, Selena Gomez posted an Instagram photo with her booty showing. Really though, I don’t care that much. It was just something that was kind of bothering me, but then I realized meh, whatev.

Check out the video below.

The Weeknd Surprises L.A. With Lana Del Rey on The Madness Tour

I kid you not, I had just finished telling my boyfriend “wouldn’t it be cool if Lana came out and sang “Prisoner”with The Weeknd?”

Then, bam! Lana slides onto the stage like the chanteuse she is and I acted a damn fool. I started to scream like a 12  year old girl who just saw Justin Bieber’s weenie pics for the first time.

The Weeknd XO + Mod Club Performances on Vevo

Yes. This. I need new chonies.

I love when artists record live performances at small venues and release them in HD. Here are the videos for “House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls,” “High For This,” “Losers,” “Tell Your Friends,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” and “The Hills.”

I haven’t even watched these yet, I just saw Vevo released them 18 minutes ago and I am gagging.

Thank you The Weeknd & Vevo!

“Beauty Behind The Madness” Enchants and Elevates Pop Music

Yesterday, The Weeknd released his latest body of work, “Beauty Behind The Madness” to critical acclaim and the dismay of some of his longtime fans. The promo for this album is sensational. Not only has the album just been released, Abel will be p performing at this years MTV Video Music Award show this Sunday. This performance will mark his first television performance of any song off “Beauty Behind The Madness.” Fall tour dates have also been released and tickets went on sale Friday morning, with exclusive pre-sales occurring throughout the week. Let me tell you, I was stressed about getting awesome seats to his Los Angeles show, but after literally pissing my pants, I came out on top with 11th row floor seats. /brag

Along with the album’s release, VMA’s performance, and tour tickets hitting the market this week, Abel went ahead and dropped the video for “Tell Your Friends” this week too. “Tell Your Friends” marks the album’s 4th video release, a fan’s dream come true.

Okay, so the whole reason for this post was that I just saw a trailer for “Beauty Behind The Madness” that Abel posted on his Facebook page, 26 minutes ago. While Abel isn’t actually in it, besides a billboard of the album cover, “The Devil” that Abel sells his soul to for fame is. “The Devil” is driving down a dark bridge, sees a billboard of the album’s cover, gets out, lights up a rag stuffed inside of a liquor bottle and throws it at the billboard, burning it. Once the paper is torched, the words “Beauty Behind The Madness” are revealed in flames.

The Weeknd Releases Video For New Single “Tell Your Friends”

The Weeknd just announced the new single off “Beauty Behind The Madness” by releasing a music video for it. The new single is titled “Tell Your Friends” and is produced by Kanye West. “Tell Your Friends” is something new sonically for The Weeknd, although, the lyrical content and word choice is classic Weeknd; mixing in the old with the new.

Again, The Weeknd is touching on the topic of going mainstream, but still keeping true to his artistry and his fanbase who has supported his career since the beginning, XO.

The video for “Tell Your Friends” is on fire. Abel is in the desert, middle of nowhere, burying a body that turns out to be himself with plastic bag over his head. One gets the feeling that he’s burying the “old” Abel and is embracing his new mainstream image/success. Then, all Hell breaks loose. The devil character who made appearances in “The Hills” and “Can’t Feel My Face” walks toward Abel, Abel pulls out a gun, licks his lips, then shoots the devil dead. WHAT.EVEN? Another song from “Beauty Behind The Madness” plays after the gun goes off, “Real Life” Abel gets in the car and drives into the night. Superb storytelling.

From what I gathered, Abel is letting his audience know that he isn’t willing to lose himself in the mainstream. He’s doing what he CAN do rather than what he HAS to do in order to be a successful mainstream artist. A refreshing concept because too many times have an audience embraced an artist for this distinguishable art, only to be let down by the music “business” of things. I’m a new fan of The Weeknd and I fully appreciate his artistry and integrity.

Fall in love with the video below

Listen to 18 Minutes of The Weeknd’s “Beauty Behind The Madness”

Maybe this was a planned snippet release or maybe Abel wanted to take control of the leak of his forthcoming album “Beauty Behind The Madness.” Regardless, the fans win because the album is officially released in six days and now we all have something to hold us over until then.

I haven’t listened to the leak because of sheer inconvenience. I don’t want to download it, then be stuck with the download on my computer when I buy a digital copy. Yes, I could delete it, but again, lazy. I’m in the middle of listening to the eighteen minute snippet and the album sounds very cohesive and I’m excited as hell to listen to it at night, with wine, in my chonies, after a long ass night at work.

Get your life below.

I forgot that Lana Del Rey is on a track with him. I’m trying to be patient while I listen to the snippet sequentially, but I cannnnnn’t.

Behind The Scenes Video of Fans Hearing “Beauty Behind The Music” For The First Time

Republic Records released a video of fans listening to The Weeknd’s forthcoming album, “Beauty Behind The Madness,” for the first time. See? It’s cool little promo things like this that make the release of an album exciting. Granted, Republic chose super XO fans to listen, so of course they’re going to wet themselves over it, but if you’re a fan watching the video, it just gets you hyped up too.

“Beauty Behind The Madness” has leaked, but I won’t post the leak here. I’m trying to have morals…yadda, yadda, yadda.

The Weeknd Announces Fall Tour Dates

Don’t crucify me, but I’m new to The Weeknd fandom. I’m not an original member of XO and I will never claim to be, but hell, I’m excited for the Fall tour announcement. I can already feel the bass of the music vibrating though my teeth at The Forum in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale to the general public on August 28th, the same day “Beauty Behind The Madness” is released. Although, there are two presales: Facebook and “Buy a t-shirt” presale.

If a Weeknd t-shirt is bought through his site Here then you get a code for early access to tickets on August 25th. A ticket is not guaranteed, but it gives you an extra shot at a ticket. Facebook’s resale is August 26th at 10am with the code: MADNESS. Yet, another shot at a ticket.

Lets face it, The Weeknd has the #1 song in the country right now. Like the video for “Can’t Feel My Face,” he is on fire. Tickets are going to sell out quickly. There are only 22 dates on the tour and resale value on the tickets are going to be bananas. I’m fairly sure he’ll add a few more dates in the major cities when demand for tickets are high because there several large gaps between dates and its just what artists do to appease their growing fanbases.

Listen to a Clip of New Song From The Weeknd, “Tell All Your Friends”

It’s only 15 seconds worth, but the build up to the album is getting intense, at least for me. I’ve completely played out “The Hills,” “Often,” and “Earned It” as I impatiently await The Weeknd’s new music.

STAN mode: activate.

The Weeknd Featuring Lana Del Rey “Prisoner” Snippet

The tracklist for “Beauty Behind The Madness” was released a few hours ago, while I was sitting in class daydreaming about a six foot tuna sandwich from Subway, and it has been confirmed that a collaboration with Del Slay is a done deal. “Prisoner” is the song that will turn my grown ass into a weeping baby, Benjamin Button style.

Although, this snippet doesn’t have Lana’s part in it. The track stops at what I’m assuming is the beginning of our Melancholy Queen’s verse.

Alright, I just watched and listened to this clip of The Weeknd debuting a new song in London in July. So, it was referred to as “Mood Music Part 2” by The Weeknd’s people, just like “The Hills” was referred to as “Mood Music” before it was officially released. (Info from the comments section of the video.)

“Beauty Behind The Madness” is shaping up to be a contender for Album of the Year if “Mood Music Part 2,”, “Often,” “The Hills,” and “Can’t Feel My Face,” are any indication of what the album is to be.

Gays and girlies, go buy some new panties cause The Weeknd is about to flood your basement.
